April 24, 2026

The Netherlands Uganda Trade and Investment Platform (NUTIP) was honored to join the celebrations for King’s Day, which commemorates the birthday of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander.

While King’s Day is officially celebrated on 27th April, the Dutch community in Uganda marked the occasion last Thursday in a vibrant and memorable gathering, graciously hosted at the Netherlands Residence.

The event provided not only an opportunity to celebrate Dutch culture and traditions but also to reflect on the strong and growing partnership between Uganda and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

H.E. Frederieke Quispel, in her remarks during what was her final King’s Day celebration as Ambassador to Uganda, reflected on her experience, highlighting the warmth, openness, and generosity that define Uganda and its people, values that have strengthened ties and fostered meaningful collaboration.

The event was graced by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, as Guest of Honour, who emphasized the evolution of Uganda-Netherlands relations into a modern, mutually beneficial trade partnership, underpinned by shared ambitions for sustainable economic transformation.

NUTIP_ Kampala proudly celebrates its role within this dynamic partnership, bringing together businesses, innovators, and stakeholders committed to advancing trade, investment, and collaboration between the two countries.

We thank the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Uganda, the Dutch community, partners, and sponsors for hosting such a successful and engaging celebration.

We look forward to continuing this tradition and to celebrating future milestones together.
