The Netherlands-Uganda Trade and Investment Platform (NUTIP) proudly welcomed 16 new member companies to its growing business community at the NUTIP New Arrivals Event 2026, held last week in Kampala.
The annual event provides an opportunity to welcome new members, showcase emerging businesses, and strengthen connections between Dutch and Ugandan companies. This year’s gathering brought together businesses across a diverse range of sectors, reflecting the growing opportunities for trade, investment, innovation, and collaboration between the Netherlands and Uganda.
Welcoming 16 New Members
The evening featured short business pitches from our newest members, who introduced their companies, shared their ambitions, and highlighted the opportunities they are pursuing in Uganda and beyond.

The new members also join the pool of nominees for the upcoming Orange Crane Awards – Best Newcomer category, celebrating the contribution and potential of businesses that have recently joined the NUTIP community.
Connecting Business and Building Partnerships
NUTIP Chairperson Martijn Harlaar opened the first session with remarks highlighting NUTIP’s role as a bridge between Dutch and Ugandan enterprises and its commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for business connections, partnerships, and investment.
The event also featured engaging conversations with senior representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Uganda.
Q&A with H.E. Angele Samura
H.E. Angele Samura, newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Uganda, shared her first impressions of Uganda following her previous posting in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
She spoke positively about Uganda’s vibrancy, entrepreneurial spirit, and business potential, highlighting agriculture, logistics, and other key sectors as areas offering opportunities for Dutch–Ugandan cooperation.
The Ambassador also underscored the importance of NUTIP as a platform for connecting businesses and strengthening trade and investment relations between the two countries. On a personal note, she shared her excitement about exploring Uganda’s rich culture and culinary experiences.
Q&A with Ms. Astrid Mastenbroek
The second Q&A session featured Ms. Astrid Mastenbroek, moderated by NUTIP Board Member Tinah Namatovu.
Ms. Mastenbroek shared her enthusiasm about returning to Uganda and reflected on developments within the country’s agriculture sector. She encouraged NUTIP members to explore innovative partnerships around food security, nutrition, and agribusiness, highlighting the potential for collaboration and shared impact.
Looking Ahead
The NUTIP New Arrivals Event provided more than an opportunity to introduce new members—it created a platform for businesses to connect, exchange ideas, and identify opportunities for future collaboration.
