Last week, NUTIP_ Kampala, together with Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Uganda gathered members of the Dutch business community in Uganda for the official launch of the Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) Program.

The event provided a platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities of implementing RBC policies, while underlining that responsible conduct is not only a moral duty but a winning strategy.

RBC equips companies with guiding principles to make a lasting impact on communities and contribute to leaving their environment better than they found it. Businesses that embed RBC into their core strategies are better positioned to manage risks, secure market access, and build resilient supply chains.
Key highlights from the training content included:
Overview of RBC: Its significance, global relevance, and practical implementation tools.
Sector-specific breakout sessions: Participants engaged in tailored discussions on RBC challenges and opportunities within their industries.
Experience sharing: Selected participants presented good practices, showcasing how RBC principles are already being applied in Uganda.
Group work presentations: Capturing insights and mapping the way forward for embedding RBC across sectors.
This kick-off marks the start of a broader program that will culminate in November 2026 with the launch of comprehensive RBC guidelines combining sectoral risk analysis, legal insights, case studies, and practical tools on the Day of the Entrepreneur.

Special appreciation to: Ease Business International Limited and Atacama Consulting 🍃👷🏾♀️🦺 Consulting for expertly facilitating the sessions.
All participants for their openness, contributions, and commitment to advancing responsible business practices.
Together, we are building stronger, more sustainable partnerships between Dutch-affiliated businesses and Uganda’s business community. Let’s continue this journey to make RBC a cornerstone of responsible growth.
