Last week Climate-Connection Africa 🌍facilitated dynamic workshop in collaboration with NUTIP_ Kampala
We were joined by 44 enthusiastic participants representing a wide range of sectors: e-mobility, green agri-tech, aquaculture, coffee, food supply chain transparency, bamboo farming and processing, architecture, sustainable housing, tourism, hospitality, and expat services.
It was a powerful cross-section of Uganda’s innovative and climate-conscious ecosystem.
💡 Valuable Lessons Learned:
Our experience from previous Climate Connection workshops across East Africa and now in Kampala confirms that: Even professionals and students often lack a holistic understanding of climate change, but this can shift meaningfully in just three hours of structured engagement.
Interactive tools like the Climate Card Game and Climate Clock challenge help participants connect the dots between science and daily life.
Collaboration across sectors unlocks creative, locally relevant climate solutions.
There’s a strong hunger for follow-up action, including policy advocacy, educational outreach, and community projects.
🧠 We explored the causes, effects, and potential solutions to climate change in a hands on, collaborative way. The energy in the room was inspiring and we’re confident that every participant left with new insight, urgency, and a commitment to action.
👏 A big thank you to Sjaak de Bloois and Obua Odongo Sydney for their excellent organization, and to Marjon Castelijns 🌍 🌱 and her collogue Eline Sanders for driving this meaningful initiative across the region.
Let’s keep the momentum going and continue building practical climate awareness one workshop at a time.
