The Green Elephant is a Dutch/Ugandan private enterprise looking to contribute to clean, affordable and sustainable energy in Uganda.
Using local and readily available biomass resources (such as; coffee husk, rice husk, wood chips, sawdust ), we produce environmentally neutral briquettes for household cooking and SME heating purposes.
We offer a competitive, CO2 neutral and sustainable alternative to the current use of firewood and charcoal. In doing so we help reduce smoke (Household Air Pollution – HAP) related deaths and illnesses as well as deforestation and greenhouse gas (GHG’s) emissions.
We aim to be the primary source for renewable, sustainable and environmentally friendly energy in Uganda.
